Minority AIDS Initiative

The primary goal of the Minority AIDS Initiative Program is to improve HIV-related health outcomes and reduce related health disparities for racial and ethnic minority and minority-serving clinicians to expand their HIV clinical services capacity, HIV testing capacity, and improve the quality of HIV/AIDS care in the region.

In line with the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, these activities are focused in the communities where HIV is most heavily concentrated and where there is an identified gap in the care system based on local needs identified in each state. The intended result of intensive training of individual clinicians or systems level support is to improve the quality of life among minority people living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.

MATEC-Indiana’s current MAI Program is the Clinician Scholars Program. To find out more on how this program may be right for you, please visit the Clinician Scholars page by clicking here.
