Review of Distance Learning Evaluation Models, Strategies, and Supporting Learning Theories – 2014

NEC lit reviewThis report is from the AETC National Evaluation Center whose mission is to provide leadership in the development, design, testing and dissemination of effective models for determining the effect that AETC clinical education and training programs have on provider behavior and clinical practice with respect to change in knowledge and skills, clinical practice behavior, and improved patient outcomes.
In this report the AETC National Evaluation Center summarizes the literature on the effectiveness of distance learning techniques in medical education.  According to the US Distance Learning Association, distance learning is defined as “the acquisition of knowledge and skills through mediated information and instruction. Distance learning encompasses all technologies and supports the pursuit of lifelong learning for all”. To read this report click here.
