Midwest AIDS Training + Education Center (MATEC)
MATEC is a member of the national AIDS Education and Training Center network of eight regional and three national centers, covering all 50 states as well as US Territories and Jurisdictions. Funding is provided by the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau through the Ryan White Program, Part F. The regional headquarters for MATEC is based at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, Department of Family Medicine. MATEC provides HIV training and support services through local sites in 10 Midwestern states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin. Each site is charged with developing services to meet the needs of health care professionals in their area.
MATEC-IN is funded by the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, Department of Family Medicine. MATEC-IN is located in Central Indiana on the Eskenazi Health campus. MATEC-IN has built relationships with the top HIV clinicians and researchers in Indiana and our region, so that we are positioned to offer health care professionals targeted training and direct access to expert information.
MATEC-IN offers education, training and capacity building programs specifically designed to improve HIV/AIDS care, treatment and prevention services for:
- Advance Practice Nurses
- Physician Assistants
- Dental Hygienists
